Draw in Second Leg Secures Aggregate Victory
Real Madrid clinched a spot in the Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday after a 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig in the second leg of their Round of 16 tie. The aggregate score stood at 2-1 in favor of Real Madrid.
Despite being held to a draw in the second leg, Real Madrid controlled the majority of the match and created several scoring opportunities. Eden Hazard broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box.
Leipzig equalized in the 54th minute through a penalty kick converted by Dani Olmo. However, Real Madrid held on to their advantage and secured their place in the next round.
